Marla Tellez anchors the weeknight FOX 11 News at 6 p.m. and Good Nite LA at 11 p.m.
Tellez is a Bay Area native who began her television news career as a writer and producer. After four years behind the scenes, her on-air journey launched as a general assignment reporter along California's Central Coast. She's reported for CBS-affiliate KPIX-TV in San Francisco, where she also was a producer and correspondent for the award-winning nightly weeknight show, Evening Magazine. In 2008, Tellez left California for her first anchoring opportunity in Albuquerque, New Mexico. That's where she got the chance to appear in the hit AMC show, "Breaking Bad." She made her return to the Bay Area in 2011 as an anchor/reporter at KNTV in San Jose. Tellez landed in Los Angeles at KTTV in 2014.
Tellez has been a morning, afternoon, and prime-time anchor. She has anchored and hosted breaking news, special reports, and featured presentations. She's interviewed high-ranking politicians, celebrities, local dignitaries and her favorite, local residents. Her passion lies in holding the powerful accountable and giving a voice to the voiceless.
She's an Emmy and Golden Mike award recipient.
Tellez earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Sonoma State University, graduating magna cum laude.
